John Brinton land grants, 1794.

This collection consists of nineteen land grants, 1,000 acres each, in Washington County, Georgia. The grants are all to John Brinton and all dated August 29, 1794. The seals are attached and the grants are numbered one to five and seven to twenty. Each grant is signed by Governor George Matthews.

Robert Flournoy (1763-1825) was born in Virginia. He married Mary Willis Cobb in 1794. Flournoy was a Captain in the 1st Georgia regiment of the Continental Army during the Revolutionary War.
